14 people were issued drivers licenses without being examined in exchange for payment of R11 500 to R12 000.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has advised traffic officials to behave ethically and conduct themselves within applicable rules and terms of employment, to avoid getting arrested.

The RTMC together with the Hawks arrested five licensing department officials implicated in fraudulent activities at the Delmas testing station in Mpumalanga during a joint operation on Monday.

RTMC national spokesperson Simon Zwane says
14 people were issued drivers licenses without being examined in exchange for payment of R11 500 to R12 000.

Zwane says the National Traffic Anti- Corruption Unit that was established six months ago to investigate fraudulent and corrupt activities at different licensing testing stations in Mpumalanga continues, and they are expecting to make more arrests at other licensing testing stations.
