Clinical management of patients.
Participation in academic and training programmes. Conducting audits, research and reporting.
Teaching and supervision of students and junior staff.
Rendering after-hours and commuted overtime services Relevant post-community service experience. Relevant postgraduate diploma. Current ALS or relevant discipline-based skills course.
Requirements
DISCIPLINES: Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Ophthalmology, Urology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Psychiatry, and Internal Medicine
APPOINTMENT PERIOD: Appointment will be on a fixed-term training contract of four (04) to five (05) years in accordance with HPCSA training requirements and satisfactory academic progress.
INHERENT REQUIREMENTS: Be currently employed by Limpopo Department of Health. Be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice). Have completed Part I Fellowship examination in the relevant discipline and/or hold an unfunded registrar placement with a university. Have completed at least twenty-four (24) monthsβ service within Limpopo Department of Health, including Community Service. Be willing to sign a month-for-month work-back agreement with no option of financial payback.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates must secure university registration within Three (03) months of appointment. Failure to obtain or maintain university registration will result in termination of appointment. Registrars will submit six-monthly academic and clinical progress reports
